Quick Pickled Red Onions



QUICK PICKLED RED ONIONS

1 red onion, sliced
2 C red wine vinegar
2 T sugar
1 T mustard seed
1 teaspoon red chili flake (optional)

Put the onions in a bowl.  Bring all ingredients except onions to a boil.  Pour over the onions and refrigerate at least 30 minutes before using.  Great for tacos, sandwiches, salads, you name it.

  1. I was just trying to pickle some red onions the other day 4 my very often requested tacos. But I'd never done it before, so I did it on the fly. I knew vinegar was apart of the deal, but that's all I knew. They didn't taste good at all. So, I'm glad I came across this today, because it's REALLY delicious as a taco topping.
